Class Policies

 1.  NO FOOD, GUM OR DRINKS ARE ALLOWED IN THE BALLROOMS!

2.  PROPER dance attire:  Shoes, Leotards and tights/socks, must be worn in order to participate.  Loose hair must be secure.  Students will receive one warning, on second violation, students will be ask to sit out and observe class.

3.  Do not allow your child to wear their dance shoes on concrete!!  It causes scratches and grooves in the bottom of the shoe, which in turn scratch and rip our very costly marley dance flooring.  Please check your childs shoes often, and if you find damage, do  not allow her to wear them to class (you can use a grinder or sander to smooth the bottom of the aluminum smooth again).  Please, then, bring them to me for approval before allowing your child to wear them again in class.

4.  DISCIPLINE in classes will be handled accordingly.  Verbal discussion, time out chairs, and withholding of treats will be used first.  If this is  ineffective, the child will be referred to Ms. Christine.  Parents will be notified if discipline becomes a problem.

5.  Please be sure all students get water and go to the bathroom before class, as they WILL NOT be allowed out of the ballrooms once classes begin.

6.  Be PROMPT FOR CLASS, as frequent tardiness will result in non participation.  It's also very distracting to the teacher and rest of the class.  If your child must come in late, please make sure they are dressed for class, with the appropriate shoes on BEFORE entering the ballroom.  It is a distraction to the class for them to come in and change shoes while the class is in session.

7.  Be PROMPT WHEN PICKING UP your child.  We try very hard to make sure your child stays inside the building after their class has finished.  When the teacher must go on with her next class, your child may be left unattended.  Remind your child, should this happen, to always wait inside, and please call when you will be late.  Parents who are frequently late to pick up their child could be charged a $5.00 late pick up fee per incident.

8.  PAYMENTS are due the first class, the first week of each month.  A payment envelope will be handed out the last week of the month and should be returned the following week.  These will keep you reminded and informed of your payment history.  Remember, any time cash is paid, ALWAYS get a receipt.  Make sure your child informs her teacher or the office that cash is inside and a receipt is in order.  If the office is closed, there is a pament slot located on the office door, in the Blue Room.  A $25.00 late fee is automatically assesed to all past due accounts on the 20th of each monthAny student carrying a past due amount longer than 90 days will not be allowed to return to class, until payment arrangements are set up through the office.

9.  Parents who wait in the lobby during class are asked to not bring additional children due to limited space and are expected to keep our lobby as clean as possible.

10.  Be sure all SHOES AND BAGS ARE LABELED.  Small children should have elastic in their tap shoes instead of ribbon strings.

11.  Viewing windows are located in both ballrooms.  Please use these to observe your child during class.  Please do not allow small children to stand on the benches in front of the windows, or on the tables in the waiting areas, as this is unsafe and hazardous.

WITHDRAWL

If a student wishes to withdraw, a written notice must be received by the studio.  Without this written notice, students are responsible for their yearly tuition and will be billed accordingly.  Refunds will be made for costumes and revue fee payments if written notice is received before December 1st.  NO OTHER REFUNDS WILL BE GRANTED  (this includes registration fees).

Non attendance does not excuse you from payment of class fees, as your childs spot will be held in the class that you have registered them in, until the letter of withdrawl has been received.

Accounts over 120 days past due will be submitted to our collections agency, and this may affect your personal credit history.
